After the details of the Blue Corridor, Rama says: The next phase is that of the railway
The competition for the construction of the Blue Corridor that will connect the Albanian coastline will be reopened.
The Blue Corridor is a major project, a part of which passes through Albania. The corridor aims to connect Northern Europe, i.e. Italy with Southeastern Europe.
In this way, it will connect the north and the south of Albania as well.
The permitted speed on this highway will be 90km/h-130km/h. The axes will be tolled, but along the entire line, there will be opportunities to use parallel roads, free of charge.
The project aims to:
Opportunities for sustainable economic development.
Fewer accidents more road safety.
Increase in tourism.
Lowering the cost of transportation.
During the presentation of the project, Prime Minister Rama said that after the systematization of road infrastructure and airports, it is the turn of the railway.
"The next phase is the railroad phase. Airports are all in process. Rinas airport is on another level. Vlora is a construction site. Kukes Airport has started to grow slowly. This work closes the road infrastructure. Only axes in deep areas remained.
With the railway phase, we started with Tirana and Durrës. We have a lot to do with the Durrës-Prishtina and Hani Hotit-Montenegro railway," said Rama.
