The rate of ocean warming has almost doubled since 2005 and more than a fifth of the world's ocean surface will experience a severe heat wave, according to a report from the European Copernicus Observatory published this Monday.
“Ocean warming has increased steadily since the 1960s. And since 2005, the rate of ocean warming has doubled," oceanographer Karina Von Schuckmann said during a video conference.
