This variant of the virus has circulated in Albania: Not Delta or Indian
In Albania there is still no confirmed case with the Indian version of the virus, or Delta as the WHO has named it. Although this variant turns out to be much more transmissible than the other variants, laboratory analyzes by IPH confirm that in Albania there is only the presence of the British variant of the virus.
Iris Hatibi, head of the Laboratory at IPH said for Klan:
"Those few positive cases that are, are cases of the British variant, so far we have no laboratory suspicions of the Delta virus."
Epidemiologists have repeatedly cast doubt on the presence of the Indian variant, but based solely on travel histories, tests performed by the IPH laboratory have proved negative.
"Methodologies that define and identify variants have created their own alternatives in addition to sequencing, and we are part of these new alternatives that make it possible to quickly discover new variants."
