Constitutional changes / As long as I am here, dialogue between the government and the opposition in English will no longer take place
At the joint conference with EU Ambassador Luigi Soreca, Prime Minister Rama was asked about constitutional changes. Rama said that it is not in the current vision, but neither is it something that is not done. He emphasized the fact that the talks and dialogue between the position and the opposition (if any) will be held in Albanian, without the mediation of internationals, as last time.
"We can not change the Bible and the Qur'an alone. We can change the constitution. It is not written in stone. I am basically always for change and I say that there is always opportunity to make change and that nothing is immutable and doubt about what you have around you, are the impetus to move forward. Having said that, it seems to me that we are not at the moment and it is not in our vision or goals that it does not seem to us to be a necessity today. If others have a different opinion, let them come and discuss it.
But as long as I am here, dialogue between the government and the opposition in English will no longer take place. We have no reason to embarrass our friends. We do not have to speak English to each other. These have translators. I said they are very important in this process. "And they have a much greater knowledge than ours accumulated over the centuries that they can transfer to us, but there can be more English dialogues between Albanians, but without my presence and without the presence of the Socialist Party", said Rama.
