The State Police has published the plan of measures to guarantee order and public safety before, during and after the Albania-Ukraine League of Nations match. The match will take place this Tuesday at 20:45 at the "Air Albania" stadium, in Tirana.
The restrictions will be in effect from 15:00 on 19 November 2024 until the end of the match.
Roads to be blocked:
"Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard, 20 meters above the Dajti bridge;
"Pope John Paul II" street;
"Dervish Hima" street, near the US Embassy;
"Asim Zeneli" Street, near the US Embassy;
"Themistokli Gërmenji" street;
"Ismail Qemali" street, at the Liceu intersection;
"Mustafa Matohiti" street, near "Kosova" school;
"Jul Variboba" street, near the post office;
"Lekë Dukagjini" street, near the former Guard of the Republic;
"Avdyl Frashëri" street, near Libri Universitar intersection.
Plan of measures for the smooth running of the match:
Detailed checks: Police officers will carry out detailed checks on fans before entering the stadium to prevent the introduction of prohibited items, such as banners with racist content, fireworks, flares, pyrotechnics, coins, umbrellas, lighters, mobile phone chargers , and other dangerous items.
Misdemeanors and punishments: According to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Albania, violent actions in sports activities are punishable, according to the police announcement. Unauthorized entry into the field during a match, throwing hard objects or using pyrotechnics during a sporting activity is punishable by a fine or imprisonment, depending on the offense.
Warning to fans: The police ask for the understanding of fans to arrive early at the stadium to avoid losing the opportunity to enter due to the influx of fans.
"Also, fans and citizens are advised not to fall prey to scams with ticket prices and not to publish tickets on social networks, as they can be illegally duplicated," the police point out.
Penalties for forgery: "Any duplication or multiplication of tickets is considered forgery and fraud, offenses which are punished according to the Criminal Code. In case of any such situation, citizens are encouraged to report immediately to the number 112", the police emphasize.
