Bad Weather/ Police appeal for caution: Roads that are blocked

Due to bad weather with snowfall in several regions of the country and rainfall, the State Police has increased the presence of Traffic Police officers in the field and General Patrols, with the aim of monitoring vehicle traffic, preventing accidents and assisting road users in need.
The police appeal to drivers to be vigilant and follow the instructions of the Traffic Police.
Blocked axes
The “Bypass-Qafë Murrizë” road axis in Dibër has been blocked by the Dibër and Tirana Traffic Police to avoid obstacles and road blockages due to the high intensity of snowfall. The contracting firm is working to clear the road of snow.
The Fushë Arrëz - Iballë road axis, in the Qafë Shari - Laku i Ballçit segment, is currently impassable due to snowfall and strong winds. The Fushë Arrëz Municipality is taking measures to send vehicles (Fadroma) to open the road.
The Qafë Thanë - Librazhd road axis is experiencing traffic difficulties for trucks due to continuous snowfall.
Open axes but be careful
Across the country, other road axes are open. Snowplows are on the ground and continue their work to clear the roads and spread salt.
At the same time, measures have also been taken on national and urban road axes due to the rainfall, increasing traffic police patrols.
The State Police appeals to drivers to moderate their speed, stay in line on roads where there is a slowdown in traffic, not to overtake incorrectly, not to use the phone while driving, and to follow the instructions of the Traffic Police.
In cases of need, road users can call the toll-free number 112, and the Police services will immediately go to them to provide the necessary assistance.
