Rare intervention in the baby's heart at QSUT is performed successfully
Rare heart surgery in a newborn has been successfully performed at QSUT. The 3-day-old baby is a boy named Henry. A special procedure was used for this intervention. Immediately after birth the rare pathology was identified and for the first time Rashkind hemodynamic procedure was performed, which is done in some countries of the world.
The Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu has posted the pictures with the baby who will now thankfully enjoy full health near his family.
A rare heart operation on a newborn was successfully performed at the University Hospital Center "Mother Teresa", saving the life of little Henry.
The transposition of the great arteries, the complicated intervention in the heart that is performed in the best clinics in the World, has been successfully realized by prof. Altin Veshti, prof. Arben Baboçi, dr, Saimir Kuçi and dr. Alfred Ibrahimi.
Immediately after birth, the rare pathology was identified and for the first time, the Rashkind hemodynamic procedure was performed on a child only 3 days old, thanks to the extraordinary work of dr. Aurel Demiraj and Albert Koja, to stabilize the life parameters of little Anri. A few days later the rare heart surgery was successfully performed by the fantastic Cardiac Surgery team.
