Full statement of the mayor of Fier:

I want to inform you that eventually the fire in the entire waste field here has been put under full control. There is no smoke anymore. It is a very voluminous work that has been done all these days. The whole area is encapsulated and no longer poses a risk of igniting fires.
We will not interrupt the work and will continue to cover it with and to the height that is necessary. No waste will eventually be deposited here. We have talked about this with the concessionaire and we have agreed that from tomorrow afternoon all the waste that is created in the Municipality of Fier with the available means will be sent to the incinerator.

Not only will the waste no longer be deposited here, but the fall will be the period when up to 7,000 trees will be planted in the area and gradually turned into a park. The waste field in Fier will be just a bitter memory for all of us and one of the problems we will solve.

Undoubtedly planting the field with trees and treating it as a small park will turn it into a recreation area. I can not say that it will happen within the month of this year that there is still a need for work, there are many years that waste is collected here, but I believe in the week and the following months the process will go to zero.
