KMSH against the creation of the Bektashi state: Such initiatives set a dangerous precedent for the future of the country
The Muslim community of Albania has expressed concern about the idea of creating a sovereign state of the Bektashi Order in Albania. KMSH emphasizes that at a time when there are no religious conflicts in the country and the spirit of dialogue dominates, such initiatives can be a dangerous precedent for the future of the country.
The complete reaction of KMSH
Based on the high interest of the believers, the media, and the public opinion, regarding the opening of the discussion on the establishment of the "Sovereignty of the Bektashi Order" in Tirana, the Muslim Community of Albania declares the following:
The Myliman Community of Albania is the sole and official representative of the Islamic religion in Albania.
Our religion has three basic components on which it has been active in the Republic of Albania for over a century, which are:
1-The Glorious Qur'an, the word of the Lord of the Universe,
2-Prophetic Tradition,
3-Constitution of the Republic of Albania
In this context, we express our concern regarding public statements that speak of "modern Islam" or "Albanian Islam" or even an Islamic state within our republic.
These terms have nothing to do with Islam as a religion, which is a universal religion and is based on the Qur'an and the Prophetic Tradition and respects the constitutions and laws of every country it belongs to.
The Muslim Community of Albania is the institution under whose umbrella all derivative tariqats have been and will continue to be represented.
This has also been the goal of Muslim scholars who have worked for an independent, secular and multi-religious Albania.
The Muslim community is the majority in the Republic of Albania and one of the main contributors to religious dialogue and harmony in the country.
This community has never considered harmony and dialogue as its "domain", since this extraordinary value that exists in our country is the contribution of each and everyone together.
In this sense, our country is not facing any danger of breaking the harmony and dialogue, on the contrary, such initiatives can be a dangerous precedent for the future of the country.
All Abrahamic religions at their core aim to serve God's Way and contribute to society, as they have done for thousands of years.
This initiative, for which we are known through the media, is not consulted with the religious communities, which for such cases have also set up a special institution, praised by all Western countries, such as the Interreligious Council of Albania.
As we explained above, we assure the Muslim believers in the Republic of Albania that we will represent them and every believer of any sect, as we have done up to now, and in the future.
We will continue to closely follow this issue and will take the necessary steps in accordance with the Constitution and laws of our country.
