KESH: We are in an extreme situation, 30% of water flows have been discharged
The Albanian Electricity Corporation announced today that the situation in the Drin cascade is quite delicate due to the large flows as a result of the heavy rains that have affected especially the north of the country.
For this reason, according to KESH, controlled discharges of the catchment are being carried out. "Referring to the hydro-meteorological situation of the last 24 hours in the water catchment basin of Lake Shkodra and the rivers Kir, Gjadër, Gomsiqe, Drin, we inform you that we are in an extreme situation of water flows due to very high intensity rains, fallen in this entire geographical space," says KESH.
"While the entire amount of water reaches over 4,000 m3/sec., the value of 1300 m3/sec has never been exceeded by the end dischargers of the cascade. So from all this amount of water coming to the cascade lakes, 30% of this amount has been discharged, while the rest has been accumulated as an energy reserve," adds KESH, stating that this has helped eliminate and minimize possible flooding in the area. of the sub-school.
