Applications are opened in e-Albania for the management of beach stations

As announced, on November 15 the application for the management of the beach stations for 2025 was opened. The announcement was made today by the Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro, emphasizing that the innovation will be the application only from the accommodation structures located on the line first of the beach or nearby.

"The 2025 summer season starts today. The online system is opened in e-Albania for the management of beach stations for entities with accommodation structures near the beaches, according to the defined legal criteria. After a long work with the staff of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, with the National Coastal Agency and the municipalities, we also brought the legal improvements that guarantee the doubling of public spaces and their distribution throughout the coastline. This year comes with a big change, where only hotel structures can temporarily manage beach plots", said Kumbaro, adding that the system will remain accessible for 30 days to guarantee an equal and transparent process.

The application process will be carried out in accordance with the new regulation "On the conditions and criteria for exercising the activity as a beach resort". All interested subjects can complete their application on the e-Albania portal by requesting the service "Application for exercising the activity of a beach station".

Beach maps were approved at the beginning of November during the meeting of the Tourist Season Management Committee, where Minister Kumbaro estimated that with the new regulation, about 675 beach plots are released. She emphasized the role of municipalities on the ground as administrators of public beach plots, with a focus on cleanliness.

"The principle of this new regulation is that the management of a beach station is not the main reason for doing business. It is an accessory, an additional attraction, an additional service for a consolidated business in the field of tourism where the main activity is accommodation. We have some fundamental changes. Many more spaces, beach stations will be freed for the public, but which will be managed and maintained by the municipalities", said earlier during the KMTS meeting, Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro.
