Greece blocks the borders. Customs points on strike from April 2-4

Greece will close customs points with border countries, including Albania. Customs officials in the neighboring state have warned that they will go on a 48-hour strike from Tuesday, April 2 at 05:30 until Thursday, April 4 at 05:30.

During this period, the customs points of Kakavija Tre Urat, Përmet, and Qafë Bote, Sarandë will not be non-functional.

Therefore, all citizens and vehicle drivers who have planned to move towards the Greek state, in this period of time, through the border crossing points Kakavije, Tre Urat Përmet and Qafë Botë Sarandë, must use the other crossing points to the Greek state.

Notification:

The Center for Police Cooperation in Greece has notified the State Police that from 02.04.2024, from 05:30 until 04.04.2024, at 05:30, the Greek customs points in Kakavija, Tre Urat, Përmet, and Qafë Botë, Saranda, will be closed due to the protest by the Greek unions.


Traffic of vehicles, buses and trucks will not be allowed. Only pedestrians, without luggage, and vehicles that have health emergencies will be allowed to circulate.

In this context, all citizens and drivers of vehicles who have planned to move towards the Greek state, in this period of time, through the border crossing points Kakavije, Tre Urat Përmet and Qafë Botë Saranda, should use the other crossing points to the Greek state .

In order not to create confusion at these crossing points, the State Police asks for the understanding of citizens and drivers of vehicles who are interested in moving towards Greece, to follow the instructions of the Police.

The State Police is in constant contact with the Greek police authorities and there will be further announcements for any changes, as well as in the event that there will be a blockage at the Kapshtica border crossing point.
