Journalists protest in front of the Assembly: Withdraw from the decision that expels us from the committees
Field journalists protested shortly before the start of the parliamentary session, regarding the new regulation of the Assembly that excludes them from the independent broadcasting of the works of the Assembly and the Parliamentary Committees.
Journalist Esiona Ikonomi says: “I have been covering the assembly for years. I do not mean this accreditation to be isolated in the basement, on the first floor. Both state media are given access. I want to be there and broadcast freely and independently. I call on the Assembly, the majority to withdraw. It is something that can be negotiated. "The assembly should have a table with journalists and reporters."
Journalist Osman Stafa says: “All journalists know how to be a journalist today. Information is centralized. The violation that has been done in this case is flagrant. Why are the deputies afraid ?! We only have one microphone. We direct a question and they answer before those who have chosen them. "Institutions are transcending the work of journalists."
The decision of four days ago aims to place journalists in an office from where they will have to follow the developments of the Assembly and the committees through digital screens. This protest had been announced for days. Field journalists also called on journalists working in newsrooms to join.
