First flight from Vlora airport almost at the end of 2024
Prime Minister Edi Rama, during a meeting in Vlora with tourist operators, said that the works at the Vlora airport are going very well and if nothing unforeseen happens, the first flight will take place at the end of 2024.
"Vlora today is a reflection of a transformation that has begun to produce economy and increase tourist demand for Vlora. But this is also a challenge to have more capacity and to have a better service. We started with two construction sites that will give a boost to tourism, the new tourist port of Vlora that will bring another category of tourists and will definitely stimulate another part of the economic chain and the new commercial port that will greatly facilitate the industry of fishing.
The new construction sites that have been opened and that will be opened, I believe, will give an important impulse to Vlora, the new Orikum Dukat road, its connection with the tunnel and the passage to the other side of Llogara and the Bypass that is functional are part of an infrastructure for decades that will increase the circulation capacity. We are very optimistic that we will have the first flight at the end of 2024, we hope that there will be no surprises because we have learned that not everything depends on the plan and the will", said Rama.
