The expert shows the most dangerous roads for accidents in Tirana: To be monitored with digital cameras
Road accidents remain high mainly in the capital, due to the high speed with which drivers drive in the car, but according to experts also the constant monitoring that is lacking by traffic police, or problems with signage. One of the roads where the accident happened last night, and as a result a 24-year-old girl lost her leg after being hit by a car while waiting at the station is Xhanfize Keko Street, which counts dozens of accidents with serious consequences.
Road Safety Expert Artur Sulçe says this road should be monitored with digital cameras.
"If you look from Bardhyl Street up to Linza, there is a total shortcoming in the bright signage. Maximum speed 40 km per hour. Drivers generally move at higher speeds. If we look carefully at this road segment, we find that there are two lanes on the descent and one on the ascent. This path must be flexible. "Digital cameras should be installed and no vehicles should be parked in the bus lane after 7 o'clock," he said in an interview with ABC.
On the same road a year ago, a serious accident claimed the lives of two pedestrians while they were standing on the sidewalk. Expert Sulçe says that the Traffic Police does not deal with prevention but with their treatment after it happens.
"The Traffic Police has the obligation, and the law says that it must prevent accidents. He has to advise, he has to manage, he has to intervene when an accident happens and so on. But, the Traffic Police in the Albanian state, deals with the treatment of road accidents, " says the expert.
