Dumani: There are still corrupt people in the system! They passed the vetting, but continue to commit corrupt acts
The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, during an activity organized by the Albanian Committee of Helsinki, expressed that the most worrying issue is not the subjects dismissed from the vetting, but those who have gone through this process and continue to be part of the system.
"We have not been blinded by the vetting bodies, we have initiated investigations mainly for the criminal offense of corruption. These are issues that we are investigating and we are careful in filtering vetting decisions. Today, as we speak, SPAK has taken under criminal prosecution, judges of the constitutional court, the high court, members of the KPA, general prosecutors. We have a large number of subjects and we will continue to do so whenever we have clues or data. The biggest concern is not those fired, but those who have been confirmed in office and that is our focus. Because they are in the system and can commit corrupt acts. Each institution fulfills its obligations. I call on citizens to denounce any corrupt act of judges or prosecutors. Institutions responsible in the fight against corruption must be active and provide SPAK with information", said Dumani.
