Lumas residents on hunger strike, letter to heads of state and ambassadors: Suspend works on Sinec spring

Residents of the village of Lumas in Berat went on strike this afternoon. They are against the construction near the source of Sinec, and have decided to go on hunger strike in front of the building of the Administrative Unit of Lumas. Despite the decision to suspend the works, the company has continued the work for the construction of the water supply system with the source of Sinec, which is a protected area.
Residents, after the physical clash yesterday with the police, today sent a letter to the heads of state and the main ambassadors in the country, while they submitted 4 requests:
1-Dismissal of the Director of the Local Police Directorate of Berat Edmond Targaj, who has violated, threatened and denied us the constitutional right to express, gather, manifest and protest
2- Suspension of the theft of 4.2 million Euros from the company "Salillari ”Sh.pk in cooperation with the Mayor of Kucova Kreshnik Hajdari, camouflaged after the construction of a water supply system at the source of Sinci, protected area
3-Suspension from duty and administrative and criminal investigation against the Director of State Police Ardi Veliu, who uses the state police as a private police in defense of the destruction of the source and river of Sinec and in defense of the interests of private entities
4- Meeting with the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama in order to solve this problem in protection of the source of the Sinec riverbed as a national asset and natural monument.

Ne banorët e fshatit Lumas, kemi vendosur të futemi në grevë urie duke mos gjetur asnjë zgjidhje për problemin tonë në mbrojtje të burimit të ujit të Sinecit. Përpos faktit që po ndërtohet në burimin e Sinecit, e cila është zonë e mbrojtur, pasuri kombëtare duke e shkatërruar atë por edhe shtrati i Lumit të Sinecit po shkatërrohet nga subjektet private. Gjatë kësaj periudhe nga ana e punonjësve të policisë jo vetëm që nuk jemi lejuar të ushtrojmë të drejtën tonë kushtetuese për të protestuar por edhe jemi dhunuar prej tyre.
Për sa më sipër, kemi vendoaur të futemi në grevë urie pa afat dhe më poshtë ju parashtrojmë kërkesat tona :
1-Shkarkimin e Drejtorit të Drejtorisë Vendore të Policisë Berat Edmond Targaj, i cili na ka dhunuar, kërcënuar dhe mohuar të drejtën kushtetuese për tu shprehur, grumbulluar, manifestuar dhe protestuar
2- Pezullimin e punimeve të vjedhjes së 4.2 milion Euro nga shoqëria “Salillari” sh.p.k në bashkpunim me kryetarin e Bashkisë Kucovë Kreshnik Hajdari, të kamufluar pas ndërtimit të një ujësjellësi në burimin e sinëcit, zonë e mbrojtur
3-Pezullimi nga detyra dhe hetimin administrative dhe penal ndaj Drejtorit të Policisë së Shtetit Ardi Veliu, i cili përdor policinë e shtetit si polici private në mbrojtje të shkatërrimit të burimit dhe lumit të Sinecit e në mbrojtje të interesave të subjketeve private
