The US Embassy echoes Biden's order today: A vital tool for Albania's future
Yesterday, the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, extended the powers of an executive order in force to include Albania in the regime of sanctions for freezing property for persons who threaten American national security.
The United States Embassy in Tirana has reacted to this, saying that this order is in line with the work that the United States and the European Union have done to integrate the region into European and Euro-Atlantic structures. As he adds that yesterday's Executive Order is a vital tool towards achieving this common goal.

President Joe Biden adopted a new Executive Order (EO) yesterday, authorizing the use of sanctions against persons involved in a range of destabilizing activities in the Western Balkans, including those engaged in efforts that threaten regional peace, security and stability; affect democratic processes; and are involved in corruption in relation to the region among other activities. A clear reference to Albania makes it clear that the Executive Order is in line with the work that the United States and the European Union have done to integrate the region into European and Euro-Atlantic structures. Yesterday's Executive Order is a vital tool towards achieving this common goal.
