Accident with 46 victims in Bulgaria, the owner of the travel agency speaks for the first time
The owner of the travel agency, which owned the bus that was engulfed in flames in Bulgaria in the early hours of this Tuesday morning, has given his first statement to the media about the event.
In his speech, the owner clarified that he did not know how the accident happened and that the Bulgarian authorities have not clarified the event so far.
He added that he had been at the scene since 03:00 am, about an hour after the incident, and that he was waiting to receive further information from the Bulgarian authorities.
"I do not know how the case happened. "I have been at the scene since 3 am to receive information from Bulgarian institutions, but so far the causes are still unknown," he told the media.
The bus, one of the three traveling in the convoy, carrying 51 passengers and 2 drivers, entered through the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing shortly after 21:00, stopped at a gas station at midnight and around 2.00 a serious accident occurred .
During the collision, the bus broke about 50 meters of metal defenses of the road and then burst into flames.
The causes of the serious accident are not yet known, while according to experts the causes can be three: technical dysfunction, a health problem that may have suffered the driver who was behind the wheel or his drowsiness.
Bulgaria's acting Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov described the accident as the most horrific event he had ever seen.
The Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, has arrived in Bulgaria to follow the situation closely, as he said that he was horrified by the serious event.
