The residents of Himara will vote on Sunday, August 4, to elect the new head of the municipality.
23 thousand and 74 citizens have the right to vote, who will choose between two candidates, Vangjel Tavo of the Socialists and Petro Gjikuria of the opposition.
The 36 voting centers in Himare will open at 07:00 and close at 19:00.
The elections in the Municipality of Himara are expected to give a solution to a 15-month battle for the first of the Himarjots, a saga that started with the arrest of Fredi Beler and then the acting mayor, Jorgo Goro.
With two mayors in prison, the Municipality of Himara was initially led by the vice-mayor Blerina Bala, who then resigned and the municipality is currently led by Arqile Bollano.
