Why do all January diets fail?

Why do all January diets fail?

Sorry to diminish your motivation, but this is what experts say: All January diets fail!

The first month of the year is the one after baklava, turkey, Russian salad with mayonnaise and is the month when diets start.

A survey of 2,000 adults from Second Nature takes a closer look at why these diets break down. According to the study the main reasons are unrealistic goals, loss of motivation and feeling tired and hungry.

Other reasons listed include pressure from friends and partners to stop dieting and the effect of diet on sex life (we are too tired to have sex due to lack of food).

The survey found that January 12 is the day most people give up their post-New Year diet.

Second Nature is encouraging people to give up diets altogether because they just do not work and instead focus on making healthier choices.

It is not a sign of personal failure that a diet has not worked, but perhaps that the goals set are simply not reasonable.
