Had consumed narcotics! The Albanian weightlifter is permanently excluded from

Albanian weightlifter Arbër Çerçizi has been permanently excluded from exercising the sport by the Albanian Weightlifting Federation, after it was discovered in anti-doping tests that Çerçizi had consumed narcotics, such as cocaine.

The news was published by the Weightlifting Federation itself, which warns other athletes not to perform similar acts and that the regulation will be strictly enforced in case such cases are discovered.

Statement of the Albanian Weightlifting Federation:

The Albanian Weightlifting Federation, during the development of the National Championship for adults held on 20-21 February 2021 in the city of Durrës, having as its motto the uninterrupted fight against the doping phenomenon, asked OKAD in Albania for the anti-doping control for all athletes participating in this championship.

After taking the samples on 22.03.2021, comes the answer from OKAD, according to the test No LC 1001/21, where the athlete Arbër Çerçizi tested positive for the cocaine substance.

All athletes participating in the National Championship came out negative, with the exception of the athlete of "Klub Sport Apolonia", Mr. Arbër Çerçizi, who came out positive with the substance cocaine. In this situation, where the Federation is fighting for clean sports, after being hit by this phenomenon and this athlete is a recurring one, convened the Executive Committee urgently, today, on 25.03.2021, and decided the extreme measures:

the exclusion of the athlete Arbër Çerçizi permanently from the sport of weightlifting as well as the suspension of the coach of the Apolonia Sports Club for a period of 5 years, not allowing him to practice the profession of coach. For every athlete, be it a medalist, who will come out positive from the control required by the Federation will have the same measure (exclusion from the sport).

Respectfully, The President of FSHP, Elez GJOZA!
