The #RedforKids campaign, initiated by the Vodafone Albania Foundation, in the first month of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the donation of the first 5,000 tablets and mobile phones, is continuing its mission, to enable children from needy families to all over Albania, even more access to the online learning system.

In the event "Digitalization, for more access to education", organized in the 9-year school "Kus", Kashar, Tirana, in one of the schools included in the list of beneficiaries of this initiative, was presented the donation of 10,000 other smart devices (phones and tablets, equipped with sim card) with the aim that no one is left behind in the learning process. 15,000 smart devices is the total contribution of Vodafone within #RedforKids, a donation that is one of the most important for the education system in these difficult times for the country.

Present at this event were the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Mrs. Evis Kushi, General Director of Vodafone Albania, Mr. Achilleas Kanaris and the Director of ANA, Mrs. Mirlinda Karçanaj, as a representative and supporter of this digitalization process in the education system in Albania.

In her welcoming speech, Minister Kushi thanked "Vodafone Albania" for the contribution and stressed the importance of internet access and technology, especially in such moments:

"I really find the opportunity to thank Vodafone Albania very cordially, because these tablets will help extremely students and teachers to develop and guarantee the smooth running of the learning process" - said Minister Kushi.

Minister Kushi said that during the pandemic everyone has faced previously unknown challenges.

"Since the first days of taking office, I have been on the ground and I can say that I am satisfied with the high awareness of students, teachers and parents. In this great endeavor, I say with pride that we are not alone. We have on our side many of our partners, donors, various businesses, who have social responsibility in their DNA. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Vodafone Albania has provided 5,000 digital devices to students coming from families in need, who found it impossible to attend online learning. It has been an extraordinary help and I am glad that today they are doubling the support "- said Minister Kushi.

The General Director of Vodafone Albania, Mr. Achilleas Kanaris said:

"RedForKids is an initiative we took immediately in the first weeks of quarantine to help those children who could not access online learning. I am happy that together with our Foundation we have been able to reach 15,000 families across Albania and we are enabling their children to attend online education, just like any other child. In the digital age, online access is not a luxury but a necessity. As a leading company in technology, we give an important role to digital education and inclusion. Digitalisation promotes inclusion and provides equal opportunities for access to education and information and we will continue to contribute in this regard. This initiative is in line with our objectives as Vodafone Group,

The director of ANA, Mrs. Mirlinda Karçanaj emphasized that e-albania has set up a complete section for education, which starts with the online application for the excellence fund, the application for the State Matura, enrollment in vocational schools, certification and unification of diplomas, etc. .

"In cooperation with the Ministry of Education, with the start of the second semester, we will come up with a great solution for the quality of Albanian education! We will create an electronic blackboard, a dashboard, where students from all preschool and high school, see their results in real time, print receipts with electronic stamp, or parents who are familiar with the progress of children through an online system without the need for "meeting with parents". We have it ready for implementation and in the coming weeks we will present it in detail, even in front of you ", said Mrs. Karçanaj.

15,000 smart devices are being distributed by the Ministry of Education for children from needy families, identified in some areas of Albania, so that no one stays away from school hours but only away from the school benches.
