European countries have rejected it, but the WHO supports the AstraZeneca

Although most Western European countries have banned the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine for people over 65, the World Health Organization has given it the green light.

WHO experts in Geneva, after several weeks of examinations have confirmed that the vaccine developed at Oxford University is safe to administer to the elderly. This result was achieved after observations conducted on thousands of elderly Britons who have received the vaccine.

The WHO has also underlined the importance of taking the second dose, eight days after the first so that the vaccine has lasting and long-term effects.
