New law for Albanian emigrants who want to work in Italy

New law for Albanian emigrants who want to work in Italy

A new draft law was adopted in Italy that facilitates obtaining a residence permit for Albanians who want to work there.

Through this draft law, all immigrants are allowed to convert their residence permit for other reasons into a residence permit for work reasons. This includes residence permits issued for natural disasters, special protection, sports, arts, religious and mining assistance.

The draft also allows the right to issue a residence permit for social protection reasons to immigrants, whose repatriation would cause inhuman and degrading treatment of their private and family life.

The Minister of Agriculture in Italy, Teresa Bellanova, spoke about this law:

"Finally, we have put an end to the non-citizenship of Salvini's draft security laws, by imposing conditions of legal civilization and social justice. "We closed a dark page in Italian history that, for a wrong norm, had cast shadows on thousands of women and men, transforming them into clandestines."
