Good news for small businesses, Veliaj forgives the fee for public space. Here is who benefits
The Municipality of Tirana has decided to come to the aid of small businesses again, which have been affected by the situation created by the pandemic. The Municipal Council approved today the decision for the exemption from the payment of the obligation to occupy the public space for the period April - September 2021, for all entities that exercise the activity of bars, restaurants and hotels classified as small business. It was also decided to extend the deadline for payment of local taxes and fees for all entities, until May 20, 2021.
"As we promised, today we propose to the Municipal Council a draft decision on fiscal facilities for business, in the framework of measures to cope with the consequences of Covid-19. It means that we will forgive all local tariffs for the public space of all businesses of bars, restaurants, bars, cafes that are considered small business for the period April-September 2021. So, we want that even after the vaccination of the population ends during the summer months, to work without paying the municipal fees, to be able to recover the time that was not worked and there was no influx in these bars and restaurants. For everyone else we have postponed the deadline for payment of local taxes and fees until May 20, 2021. So we have given time to other businesses not to rush. "They can do this during the month of May." stressed Veliaj.
As a result of the situation created by Covid-19 and the ongoing changes in the Fiscal Package, the Municipality of Tirana has approved a series of measures to help the bar-restaurants and hotels sector, mitigation measures approved by decisions of the Municipal Council.
