After a year, Israel ends wearing the mask

After a year, Israel has been totally liberated from the masks. Yesterday Sunday was the first day after more than 365 days that the mask was not required.

The government decided to ease the measures due to the successful vaccination campaign. So far more than 5.34 million people have received the first dose.

In other words, this figure represents 61.7% of the total population of 9.3 million inhabitants.

Meanwhile, 57.4% have received both doses of the vaccine.

April 17 data showed there were only 14 new cases of infections and no casualties.

Israel has also opened schools and universities.

"Providing people with life is a form of freedom. But it is even more pleasant if you do not have to have your face covered all the time. I will be getting married in two weeks and I am happy to be able to celebrate with everyone I love. "Above all, the photos without masks will be super", says Eliana Gamulka, a saleswoman in Jaffa Street, for Euronews
