Elections in Kosovo: Vjosa Osmani leads the list of Vetëvendosje, Albin

The Central Election Commission of Kosovo has published the lists of candidates who will run in the February 14 parliamentary elections. The incumbent President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani will be on the list of candidates for MP of the Vetëvendosje Movement.

This will be done because Osmani is number two on the list after Albin Kurti, who is not allowed to run after the decision of the Constitutional Court. Bajram Mavrici with number 31 has also left the LVV list.

Vetëvendosje Movement has reacted after the decision of the Central Election Commission to remove candidates who are not certified from the list of deputies. VV's media office said in a public appearance that nothing will be changed from the list and that it will be led by Albin Kurti.

Albin Kurti is not allowed to run in the elections after the Constitutional Court ruled that candidates who in the last 3 years have a final decision, can not run. Kurti was previously sentenced to 1.3 years in prison for riots in the Kosovo parliament when he was in opposition.
