Families in the districts of Berat and Korça are more given to "luxury" at home compared to other districts of the country. INSTAT survey on household budgets has identified that Berat residents spent about 10 percent of their total monthly budget on furniture, furniture and equipment in 2019. After Berat and Korça, families in the cities of Gjirokastra and Fier have the highest care for the apartment, spending 8.7 and 8.2 percent of their monthly expenses on furnishing and maintaining the house, respectively.

In contrast, families in Kukës, Shkodër and Lezhë have the lowest costs for housing, spending 5.6, 5.7 and 6.1% of their total expenditures, respectively.

Compared to 2018, housing expenditures have increased higher in the Berat Region by 2.3 percentage points, in Fier by 1.5 percentage points and in Gjirokastra by 1 percentage point.

Expenditures for maintenance and supply of the apartment have decreased the most compared to 2018 in the region of Lezha by 0.7% and in that of Kukes by 0.6%.

The national average for home furnishing costs is 7.2% of the total with an increase of 0.6 percentage points compared to 2018.

However, families in Albania in relation to the budget they have spend more than families in the EU. According to Eurostat surveys, households in EU member states account for 5.4% of total monthly spending on furniture and home appliances.

Households in Europe have higher expenditures on house rents and bills, accounting for almost 24% of their monthly expenditures, while in Albania rent and bill payments account for 10.1 of total monthly expenditures.
