Vettingu dismisses the head of the Tirana Appellate Prosecution, Dritan Peka
The Chief Appellate Prosecutor in Tirana, Dritan Peka, was fired after failing to pass the Vetting process.
Earlier, the Independent Qualification Commission had confirmed him in the first instance, but the Public Commissioner appealed the decision, arguing that Peka did not meet the conditions for confirmation in office and requested his dismissal.
In today's session, after the verifications, the KPA decided to dismiss him.
Peka was the head of the First Instance Appellate Prosecution in Tirana since 2015.
Dritan Peka started his career in the justice system in Albania in 2000. He worked as a prosecutor of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office until 2008, when he was promoted as a Tirana Appellate Prosecutor.
