How are Albanian patients with Covid transported abroad?
Turkey is not the only country where Albanian patients with coronavirus have been sent for treatment, although recently the Greek authorities have decided not to accept due to overcrowding. Italy is another destination for the treatment of patients, while Eugena Tomini from IPH explained how they are transported and the protocol that is followed:
"It is a protocol that exists between the clinic, family members and the case manager through the national emergency 127. Every case that is transported from the hospital to Rinas is done by ambulance."
The head of epidemiology at the IPH, Eugena Tomini, was asked about the transportation of patients abroad due to the case of Bashkim Koplik.
The daughter of former Deputy Prime Minister Bashkim Kopliku, who passed away from Covid, accused the state of negligence. Today at the funeral ceremony she is quoted by the media as saying: My father passed away because he had no oxygen. He died while we were sending him on a plane to Italy for more specialized treatment.
