The Israeli media echoed the adoption of the draft resolution on anti-Semitism
The adoption in the Albanian Parliament of the Resolution "On the approval of the usable definition of anti-Semitism, defined by the International Alliance for the Remembrance of the Holocaust" has echoed in the Israeli media.
Israeli media have welcomed the adoption of the resolution, where they write that Albania is one of the first Muslim-majority countries to adopt this resolution. They write that the resolution in Albania was adopted a few days before the Balkan Conference on Anti-Semitism. Meanwhile, the Balkan Conference on Anti-Semitism will be held on October 28.
"The Jerusalem Post" writes today that Albania is among the first Muslim-majority countries to adopt the definition.
The US Embassy in Tirana has also reacted to the adoption of the resolution on anti-Semitism. Through a post on "Facebook", the embassy emphasizes that this act reminds us of the history of Albania and the sheltering of the victims of persecution in a bold way, regardless of the cost and despite the risk.
"Today, the parliament approved the definition of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance for anti-Semitism. This act continues Albania's long tradition in the fight against hatred. It also reminds us of the history of Albania and the courageous housing of victims of persecution, regardless of cost and despite the risk. "The United States is proud to call Albania a partner and ally as it continues its commitment to the dignity of every individual," reads the US Embassy post.
