Where are anti-Covid vaccines stored? Manastirliu: We will receive over 10 thousand doses at the end of the month
It will not be known where the anti-Covid vaccines came from in Albania. From the Open show, the Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu was asked about this, while she answered that a confidentiality agreement is being maintained. Earlier, Prime Minister Rama said that he hopes that one day he will say the country and thank it.
The Minister said that the first doses of the vaccine have been placed in refrigerators -70 degrees in the IPH, and that by the end of the month there will be 10 thousand doses provided.
Why didn't you make public where the vaccines came from?
Manastirliu: Absolutely we have maintained a confidentiality agreement we made with the friendly EU country that gave us the first vaccines and Rama clearly explained at the conference why the name of the friendly country was not disclosed. Vaccines are stored in refrigerators -70 degrees in IPH. There is also a drug depot at QSUT.
Regarding the talks with Pfizer, the minister said that they are working with all companies, for supplies: In the third week of this month we will receive 5000 thousand doses and over 10 thousand doses at the end of the month. Then in February we will receive 30,250 doses and then more according to the calendar. 500 thousand in total.
Excerpts from the interview:
Vasili: How many doses can we keep in this cold temperature?
Manastirliu: With the current capacities, at -70 degrees we are able to have a capacity of up to 250 thousand doses, we are working harder to increase this capacity. We are a country that has moved fast with the deal with Pfizer. There are still European countries that have not reached agreements on vaccines.
Vasili: How is the agreement with Pfizer going?
Manastirliu: We are working with all companies for vaccines, we have not excluded any vaccine. The first deal was made with Pfizer. In the third week of this month we will receive 5000 thousand doses and over 10 thousand doses at the end of the month. Then in February we will receive 30,250 doses and then more according to the calendar. 500 thousand in total. There is hope for Covax, it is negotiating for Pfizer and Astra / Zeneca and we will have news soon. The first vaccination package that Albania needs is 20% of the population, ie 600,000 people, or 1.2 million doses.
